| Hey Xanga, Its been a while, I know. Well, Happy New Year anyways... Wow, 2006 was pretty awesome. I especially loved the part when I moved into the carmen fives to live with these extraordinarally wonderful and beautiful ladies: And for 2007... Well here are some things that I need/want to accomplish: 1. Remove my wisdom teeth at 2:30pm today. (If that doesn't stir up at least a couple of pity comments I don't know what will) 2. Go to the largest indoor water-park in the U.S. 3. Hug all my room mates and a few lucky others. 4. Go to Paris. 5. Go to Poland? 6. Start running again ( I am really not sure if this fits into need or want). 7. Graduate from college. 8. Find a real job and apartment for post-graduation. 9. Enjoy a real Chicago summer. 10. ___________________ ( I am leaving #10 blank for the good idea that I always think of later.) Life is changing left and right, but I found a pink sweater from the 9th grade and I am totally going to wear it all the time now. -April Megumi

| Alright, who already knew that aloha actually means "I love you"? Isn't that a beautiful way of greeting someone?
*sigh*
So... only five weeks left. Am I happy with my summer so far? Despite it's ups and downs, I feel certain that it unfolded exactly how it was suppose to. So yes, or lets just say I am satisfied. How has your summer been?
I go back to Santa Cruz in a week. I can't wait.
I miss this lovely lady. (that's my pal Garret from highschool in the back. he is actually a better surfer than the both of us despite the looks of this picture. p.s. i stole this from ellen)
but with my last week at home i hope to go here:

and see Rockwell's The Problem We All Live With :

and their special exhibit on the resurgence of quilting as art in Alabama:

Well, that's all I've got for now. You should really update your xanga, I miss you.
Aloha,

| WELL I SUPPOSE ITS ABOUT THAT TIME AGAIN.
BOY OH BOY, THESE PAST FEW WEEKS...
-All that packing and finals junk were dreadful. But when it was done it was done and it was good.
-I treated myself to vacation in Albany Park for a few days after school let out.
*During this time myself and seven others went on a mini-vacation to Wisconsin that was quite possibly the best mini-vacation I have ever been on; sing-a-longs on the drive up, family meals, charmingly unsuccessful games on the lake, stranding a Bruckner on the tube, seeing the storm roll in seconds after we decided to rescue him, and lots and lots of naps.
*Most of all, I was able to spend time with those dear to me and grow in areas much needed due to wonderful interactions with these friends.
- Then I came home. Being home is so hard sometimes. It’s great at first when I can truly rest but the longer I stay here in TX the more and more painfully apparent it becomes that home is not here anymore. But more friends than I anticipated are around and that is nice. It is good to be with people who know you no matter how long its been since you have last seen each other.
-Kayla Marie Steinker turned 21 this past sunday. I wish I could have been in Durand for that. She is really great you know...
-I am a little bit nervous about camp. I suppose this is nothing new as I have always had this anxiety pre-camp. But I really do not know much about surfing. Hmmm...
-I already miss y’all (let me know if I can’t pull the "y’all" off) so much. Please keep in touch:

| (sigh) OH XANGA,
i miss you very much.
- remember my lap top (or lap hot)? well its dead now. oh what i would give for it to heat up my seat just once more.
- well i just got back from Calvin College for a conference on faith and writing. the most famous and successful author in attendance was salman rushdie who described himself as "a dreadful old atheist", pretty encouraging i think. the conference has got me thinking that i may not actually care to be a writer, and therefore i should not care to be a writing major...it also got me thinking about my faith, ask me about that if you like.
- my junior year is rapidly coming to an end. i am super excited about next year, good classes, great room mates, and great neighbors. however, i am getting pretty scared of the end.
-this entry has been pretty lame. i am going to try again later, so watch out!
love, April
P.S. the new profile pic is my "feared self" from my self portrait project in photo 1. i feel a bit silly putting it up there, but hey, at least now there is some public proof that i am an art major. in fact this is a ripped up picture that was incorporated into my junior show last semester.
